Obituary for Citations

From this issue, we will no longer be publishing the Citations section of the journal. From our very first edition, we have published a personal selection of citations on tobacco control research, mainly obtained from Current Contents and the “grey” literature. We have reasoned that, whereas seven years ago many of our subscribers may not have had ready access to electronic literature searching, this will rarely be the case today. The Office on Smoking and Health at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States has a weekly updated citations listing on its web site <http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/osh/citation.htm> and the monthlyTobacco and Health Abstracts (enquiries tosales{at}nisc.com) publishes a far more complete selection, including abstracts, than we would ever have space to produce.—ED
