  • 1-150 Working with the maintenance crew at Dunkirk High School for a time determined by the Chautauqua county health department hearing officer (usually 50 hours).

  • 1-151 The Public Health Law fines for smoking on school property are a maximum of $2000. The board of health has usually settled for a fine of $250.

  • 1-152 Mandated attendance at a smoking cessation class.

  • 1-153 Warning by the hearing officer.

  • 1-154 The number of offences does not equal the sum of the warnings and disciplinary actions because: (a) a single disciplinary action may apply to more than one offence by the same student; or (b) a student may receive more than one type of disciplinary action (for example, community service plus mandated attendance at a smoking cessation class) for a single offence.
