Effectiveness of school-based smoking intervention in middle school students of Linzhi Tibetan and Guangzhou Han ethnicity in China
2014, Addictive BehaviorsCitation Excerpt :The culture difference may result in the ineffectiveness of activities lead by peers. Similar findings of effectiveness of intervention in changing smoking-related knowledge and attitudes whereas not in smoking-related behaviors were also reported in other studies (Soldz et al., 2000). This can be explained by the knowledge, attitude, and practice model in health education, the purpose of which is to inform people of available scientific knowledge of the disease, so that they can use this knowledge to bring about change of attitudes and practices for better health.
