The consensus in the existing literature is that some adults use e-cigarettes as a means of smoking cessation and harm reduction,7,21–24 although the usefulness of e-cigarettes as a smoking cessation aid continues to be debated.9–12 These study results are consistent with findings that suggest e-cigarette use is associated with cigarette smoking reduction or cessation, especially among adults who use e-cigarettes more frequently.25
