Direct tobacco advertising has been banned in the UK since 2003. Non-cigarette tobacco products such as waterpipe are included in this law, though an assessment of waterpipe tobacco industry compliance has yet to be made. This study sought to assess the presence of waterpipe tobacco advertisement on eBay, an e-commerce website with no age restrictions, and the sixth most visited in the UK.1 The eBay tobacco policy allows the sale of nicotine patches or gums, promotional items with tobacco brand logos, memorabilia for tobacco products, tobacco seeds, vintage ads for tobacco products and collectible packaging that has no tobacco inside.
