Selected results based on table above: 27.6% were discount/generic brand users in 1988, 1993, or 2001; 5.8% were discount/generic brand users in 1988; 18.4% were discount/generic brand users in 1993; 16.2% were discount/generic brand users in 2001.
Among those who were discount/generic brand users in 1988 and 1993 (n = 193): 59.6% were still discount/generic brand users in 2001; 30.0% quit smoking by 2001; 10.4% switched to premium brands in 2001.
Among those who were premium brand users in 1988 and 1993 (n = 2857): 11.3% switched to discount/generic brands in 2001; 28.9% quit smoking by 2001;59.7% were still premium users in 2001.
