  • Prices are in 2014 US dollars for standard units of tobacco products. Countries are identified by their ISO 3166–1 α-3 codes. Combustible prices are in-country weighted averages. Disposable and e-liquid prices are in-country medians. Rechargeable e-cigarette prices are in-country minimums. The formula for the payback period of a pack-a-day smoker is Price of rechargeable/price of combustible – price of e-liquid. A payback period of ‘never’ indicates that equivalent units of e-liquid is more expensive than combustible cigarettes in that country. Countries are sorted by income group and payback period.
