Tobacco-free generation (TFG)
Annual smoking uptake ratesAnnual smoking uptake rates were set to 0% from the baseline year onwards (2011).No uncertainty. In scenario analyses, we assumed that smoking uptake rates were still as high as 20% of the business-as-usual (BAU) trend in uptake rates. In another scenario analysis, BAU annual adult smoking cessation rates were increased by 10% for 21–34 year olds, by 5% for 35–54 year olds and by 2.5% for 55+ year olds (assuming a positive cross-over effect through further tobacco denormalisation with the largest cross-over effect happening in the age cohorts closest in age to the ‘TFG’).
